The new electric subcompact sedan gets a 26 kWh lithium-ion battery with a new Permanent Magnet Synchronous electric motor that churns out 55 kW or 74 bhp and 170 Nm of peak torque. It can accelerate 0-60 kmph in just 5.7 seconds. It does provide a range of 306 km (ARAI certified). It can be charged up to 80 per cent in less than 60 minutes of time using a fast charger. With a home charger, it takes 8.5 hours to charge it fully. It gets an IP67 certification on battery and gets an eight-year warranty or 1.6 lakh km on battery and motor.

Features

While we look for its features, it includes a 7-inch touchscreen, silent in-cabin experience, fully automatic temperature control, smart key, tyre puncture kit, boot space, spacious interiors, height adjustable seat, portable charging cable, 30+ connected car features which includes remote commands and remote diagnostics, etc.

Its safety features include hill ascent, hill descent control, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, CSC or Cornering Stability Control. It is offering 8 years of warranty on the battery pack and the motor which are IP67 rated and it comes with an impact-resistant battery pack casing.

“We are ecstatic to launch the Tigor EV today, powered by the capable Ziptron Technology,” said Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors. “The Tigor EV is a perfect option for all aspiring sedan buyers who are looking to own a vehicle that is technologically advanced, comfortable and high on safety standards, while also being an environmental-friendly commute.”

During its launch event, Tata Motors said that it shares 70 per cent of the share in the electric market. The company said that it has sold around 8,500 plus electric vehicles and out of which 6000 plus units are of the Nexon EV. The Nexon EV customers have collectively driven more than 35 million kilometres to date. Which has helped to save over 35-kilo tons on CO2 emissions, which is equivalent to planting half a million trees.
