Tata Punch EV is expected to launch soon

Tata Punch EV was spotted while Charging via the front slot

Tata Motors’ hugely popular ‘Punch’ small SUV will soon have an electric version. Ahead of its official launch, the Tata Punch EV was recently spotted at a charging station in India. Before that, the futuristic electric car was tracked several times in the country.

A recent test mule of the upcoming Tata Punch EV was spotted with a front charging slot at the charging station. Spy photos shared by Instagram user B.Choww show the EV looking similar to the standard Tata Punch model with some tweaks. The highlight of the Punch EV model is the dashboard on the front bumper. We can see a cover has been opened and the standard magazine has been attached to it.

The vehicle was spotted fully camouflaged and looks like the standard ICE Tata Punch from the front in the photo. Other features seen on the test mule are Tata Tiago alloy wheels and rear disc brakes. However, reports suggest that the final production version will likely have different wheels and designs. Before that, another Tata Punch EV test mule was discovered lying on a tray. Previous spy shots also included interior shots. Like the exterior, the interior will largely resemble the old model, according to the upcoming Punch EV sneak peeks.

The Punch EV’s interior also features the same 7.0-inch Harman Kardon touchscreen infotainment display and automatic climate control.

The electric vehicle is expected to be equipped with the same Ziptron technology found on the Tata Tiago EV and Nexon EV models. However, there are no details about the powertrain.

The Tata Tiago EV is powered by a 24kWh battery and a smaller 19.2kWh battery, offering a MIDC-certified range of 315km and 250km, respectively. We can expect similar results from the Tata Punch EV.
