Tata Power & MG Motor partnered to install 50kW DC superfast chargers
The Tata Power and MG Motor India partnered to install 50 kW DC superfast chargers. Both the companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). As per the MoU, Tata Power will deploy 50kW DC superfast chargers at selected dealerships of MG Motors all over India which will cater for the end-to-end electric vehicle charging solutions.

These chargers by Tata and MG will be available for both the owners of the MG ZS EV and the other EV owners whose electric vehicles are compatible with CCS/CHAdeMo charging standards. Initially, the major cities will be covered and later on the expansion will be done in other cities. The CCS and CHAdeMo are two different EV charging standards that are used globally.
MG Motor has 10 superfast 50 kW charging stations network at its 5 dealerships in New Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The company also wants to expand its network in other cities too.

The Tata Power has also installed an EV charging network at over 180 points in 19 cities under the EZ Charge brand. With this partnership, the Tata Power and MG Motor India expect to provide charging infrastructure to the existing customers and as well as new and they looking for the possibility of electric vehicles batteries.
Earlier this year, the MG Motor had launched its MG ZS EV and the bookings were opened in 5 selected cities such as Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The second phase of the bookings opened from 1st June 2020 in cities such as Surat, Kochi, Jaipur, Chennai, Pune and Chandigarh.

MG ZS EV is powered by a synchronous motor that gives 141 bhp and produces 353 Nm of peak torque. It is equipped with a 44.5 kWh battery pack which provides a range of 300 km on a single charge. It accelerates 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and it gives a top speed of 140 km/h.
