Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday evening met with noted personalities at Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru to discuss various issues.
Tarun Mehta Co-founder & CEO at Ather Energy was invited to attend this event. Other famous personalities like Actors Yash, Rishab Shetty, producers Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, Vijay Kirgandur, director Prashanth Neel, cricketers Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, Venkatesh Prasad, Mayank Agarwal, Manish Pandey, businessmen Nithin Kamath were also present at the event.

Ather Energy is an Indian electric vehicle company, headquartered in Bangalore.
It manufactures two electric scooters – the Ather 450 X and the Ather 450 Plus. It has also established electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the country called Ather Grid.
The world is fast moving towards sustainable development driven by the need to reduce carbon footprint and also to meet the challenges of the environment and climate change. Ather is helping in doing the same.
In FY2019-2020, Ather Energy says its vehicles reduced 7.5 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions. Ather Energy is also aiming to use 80 percent of their energy consumption using solar energy and increase the ratio of recycled water to total water consumption by 84 percent.
The government has stated that it intends to grow electric vehicle (EV) sales in India to capture the markets of 30% of private cars, 70% of commercial vehicles and 80% of two and three-wheelers by 2030.
Narendra Modi and Tarun Mehta during this meeting had discussed about electric vehicles for India and about battery manufacturing and evolving energy supply chains.
The chief minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other BJP leaders were also present in the meeting. The PM also sought feedback from eminent personalities on central and state government’s performances during this meeting.
