Suzuki Motor Corp and Daihatsu partners for smaller electric cars 

Suzuki Motor Corp and Daihatsu partners for commercial electric vehicles led by Toyota Motor Corp to help the alliance to expand its focus from trucks to smaller cars.

As per the partnership, the Suzuki and Daihatsu will own 10 per cent stake in the joint venture, with the other stakeholders such as Isuzu Motors and Hino Motors while Toyota will have 60 per cent of stake in the partnership.

Akio Toyoda, President of Toyota Motor, said, “With Suzuki and Daihatsu joining the project and working together, we’ll be able to expand our circle of cooperation to not only cover commercial vehicles but also mini vehicles. With this expansion, I believe that we’ll be able to take one step closer to a better mobility society.”

As per the agreement, the Suzuki, along with Daihatsu will offer their expertise in small cars. Both the companies will work towards the small cars with advanced safety technologies and cooperate in use of technologies for the electrification for affordable, high-quality small cars.

The partnership will bring the pact and will bring the connected, mini commercial vehicles that will provide data sharing which is a major benefit to the companies for the better customers services.

Recemtly, Toyota has debuted its all-electric bZ4X Concept electric car for North America at Toyota Motor North America’s headquarters. The company in a major initiative taken a step forward by unveiling the Toyota bZ4X Concept. The company aims for the first global series of battery-electric vehicles to be introduced under the brand “Toyota bZ.”
