Simple Energy Launches OneS Electric Scooter at ₹1.39 Lakhs: Features, Performance, and Market Expansion

Indian electric vehicle manufacturer Simple Energy has expanded its product lineup with the launch of the Simple OneS electric scooter, priced at ₹1,39,999 (ex-showroom). This new model features a fixed 3.7 kWh battery, offering an IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of 181 kilometers and a top speed of 105 kilometers per hour.

 Performance and Specifications

The Simple OneS is equipped with an 8.5kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), enabling rapid acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.55 seconds when in its highest performance mode. Riders can choose from four distinct riding modes—Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic—to tailor their riding experience to different conditions and preferences.

The scooter is available in four color options: Brazen Black, Grace White, Azure Blue, and Namma Red.

Connectivity and Features

Incorporating modern connectivity features, the Simple OneS comes with a 5G e-SIM, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth support. These enable riders to manage calls and access various functionalities through a 7-inch touchscreen dashboard. Additional features include turn-by-turn navigation, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and a park assist function that offers both forward and reverse movement capabilities, enhancing the overall user experience.

Strategic Positioning and Market Expansion

With the introduction of the OneS, Simple Energy aims to strengthen its position in the mid-price segment of the electric scooter market. The company plans to discontinue its previous entry-level model, the Simple Dot One, to focus on the Simple One Gen 1.5 and the new OneS. This strategic move aligns with Simple Energy’s broader goal of nationwide expansion. The company currently operates 15 showrooms in cities such as Bangalore, Goa, Pune, Hyderabad, and Kochi, and plans to extend its retail operations by adding 150 new stores and 200 service centers across 23 states in India by the 2026 fiscal year.

Company Background and Vision

Founded in 2019 by Suhas Rajkumar and Shreshth Mishra, Simple Energy operates a manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, with an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles. The company is backed by several angel investors and family offices, including executives from companies like Apar Industries and Klarity. In February 2025, Simple Energy launched the Gen 1.5 version of its flagship Simple One model, boasting an extended range of 248 kilometers, positioning it as India’s longest-range electric two-wheeler.

Industry Context

India’s electric two-wheeler market has experienced significant growth in recent years, driven by government incentives aimed at reducing carbon emissions and decreasing dependency on fossil fuels. Electric scooter sales have been steadily increasing as consumers seek alternatives to traditional gasoline-powered vehicles amid rising fuel prices and environmental concerns. The launch of the Simple OneS reflects Simple Energy’s commitment to providing innovative and affordable electric mobility solutions to meet the evolving needs of Indian consumers.

Conclusion

The Simple OneS electric scooter represents a significant addition to Simple Energy’s portfolio, offering a blend of performance, connectivity, and affordability. With its competitive pricing and advanced features, the OneS is poised to attract a broad spectrum of riders, further accelerating the adoption of electric mobility in India.
