ROADGRID & BSES Yamuna Power Limited Partner to Transform Delhi’s EV Charging Landscape

In a significant move to strengthen India’s electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem, ROADGRID has partnered with BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) to roll out a network of EV charging stations across East and Central Delhi. This initiative is poised to benefit nearly 19 lakh consumers spread over 160 sq. km, marking a milestone in bridging the city’s public charging infrastructure gap.

Delhi, despite being at the forefront of EV adoption in India, continues to face challenges around charging reliability and accessibility. With limited public charging points and growing demand from individual users and fleet operators, dependable infrastructure is crucial for sustaining momentum in the EV transition. The ROADGRID-BYPL collaboration directly addresses this need by integrating smart grid technology with user-friendly charging solutions.

BYPL’s role as a key enabler
BSES Yamuna Power Limited, a leading distribution company in the capital, brings in its grid expertise, operational strength, and sustainability-driven outlook to this partnership. Leveraging its established network, BYPL will ensure that charging stations are reliable, safe, and capable of handling peak demands without straining the local grid.

This grid-backed support ensures greater convenience and confidence for EV owners and fleet operators, who have long sought solutions to erratic and insufficient public charging access. By embedding EV charging within the existing power distribution framework, BYPL is taking a forward-looking step toward an integrated energy and mobility ecosystem.

ROADGRID’s technology-driven edge
ROADGRID’s strength lies in deploying cutting-edge charging platforms that combine smart management systems, digital integration, and user-centric design. Together with BYPL, ROADGRID will create a scalable, technology-led charging network that addresses both current needs and future growth of Delhi’s EV population.

The collaboration will ensure that charging stations are not only accessible and affordable but also backed by intelligent solutions such as real-time monitoring, load balancing, and energy optimization. This ensures efficient utilization of resources while maintaining a smooth experience for EV users.

Driving sustainability and urban mobility goals
This rollout aligns with Delhi’s broader urban mobility and clean energy goals. By enabling thousands of residents and businesses to transition confidently to electric vehicles, the partnership will significantly reduce tailpipe emissions, improve air quality, and contribute to a more sustainable city environment.

Moreover, the project reinforces the government’s vision to accelerate EV adoption by 2030, particularly in metropolitan areas where pollution and congestion are pressing issues. For fleet operators—especially those in delivery, logistics, and ride-hailing services—the availability of a reliable charging network will lower operational barriers and encourage faster electrification.

Leadership and vision behind the collaboration
The initiative has been championed by leaders such as Shashank Narayan, Chandraprakash Akotkar, Ankit Sharma, and Deepesh Shrinath, whose combined expertise has been instrumental in shaping the project. Their vision emphasizes the convergence of technology, energy, and sustainable urban development, creating a blueprint for EV infrastructure that can be replicated across other cities.

Looking ahead
The ROADGRID-BYPL partnership is more than just an infrastructure project—it represents a shift towards smarter, greener, and more inclusive urban living. As charging infrastructure scales up, Delhi’s EV owners will no longer be held back by concerns over range anxiety or lack of dependable charging points.

By combining the power of smart grids with innovative charging platforms, this collaboration is set to accelerate Delhi’s green transport transition, paving the way for a cleaner and healthier future for millions of its residents.
