Rapido will Electrify its feet with eBikeGo
With the help of the electric two-wheeler rental platform, eBikeGo, Bengaluru-based bike taxi startup Rapido is looking to electrify 10% of its fleet by 2020. In addition to Rapido, eBikeGo has also joined hands with numerous other startups to electrify their logistics fleet.
Till the date, the company has provided its ebikes to food delivery startups Zomato and Swiggy, ecommerce giant Amazon, logistics unicorn Delhivery, gifting platform Ferns & Petals and coliving hotel chain Gostops, among others.
eBikeGo is currently operating in five Indian cities, Delhi, Amritsar, Jaipur, Jalandhar, and Agra. Now it is targeting Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Kochi and Kolkata. The e-bike rental startup started its journey with 640 users in 2017 and is now reportedly serving nearly 18K users. The company believes that it will easily reach a million users by 2020.
Rapido was founded by Rishikesh SR, Pavan Guntupalli and Aravind Sanka in 2015. Anyone with a two-wheeler license, a bike, a vehicle registration certificate, and bike insurance can register themselves as a Rapido Captain.
Currently, Rapido has its presence in over 75 cities. It has over 1 Million captains to serve for 10 Million customers. By August 2019, Rapido has completed 50 Million rides which has covered over 250 Million kilometers.
Both Rapido and eBikeGo aim to provide scalable, eco-friendly and economical transportation solutions for the Indian shared mobility and rental market.
