Post Covid-19 unlock 1 Ampere Vehicles sales raised 60%
India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer and an electric mobility subsidiary of Greaves Cotton Ampere Vehicles Pvt Ltd has reported a surge in sales since the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic was relaxed by the government from June 1. It has registered a 60% per cent increase in retail sales post-Unlock 1.

The company said in a statement that it has witnessed the sales of its electric vehicle increased post unlock 1. During this time, the company opened 10 new dealerships across the country. It claimed that most of the customers have expressed their needs to switch to an affordable and sustainable mode of personal transport like electric scooters.
“Ampere Electric Vehicles has seen an upsurge of 60 per cent in retail sales in over 150 cities and towns across the country after Unlock 1.0 (June 1, 2020).
“The company also opened 10 new dealerships during this period and is witnessing a surge in new dealership enquiries with the number of applicants crossing 900,” the company said in a release.
A week ago Ampere Vehicles has also launched its mid-speed all-electric scooter Magnus Pro in India. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown everywhere the electric scooter is launched digitally.

The Magnus Pro electric can accelerate 0-40 kmph in just 10 secs. It gives a range of 100 km per charge on economy mode and 80 km per hour on performance mode. It has a high ground clearance of 150 mm and takes five hours to fully charge. The scooter has a running cost of 15 paise per km. The Magnus Pro is priced at Rs 73,990 (ex-showroom, India).
The company aims to fulfil the government’s vision to go all-electric by 2030. Ampere has around 60,000 electric scooters across over 200 cities and towns in India.

It is offering 12th-anniversary offer on Ampere Zeal (high speed), Reo and Magnus (slow speed) until June 30.
