Top Leading Best Hybrid Cars

Is a hybrid car something you are considering purchasing? With so many options available, finding a good car that meets your needs while being within your budget is challenging. We know that the type of fuel you use is one of the most important factors to consider when purchasing a car. We have compiled a comprehensive list to help you choose the best hybrid car. You can find information about pricing, images, comparisons, and other features of hybrid cars in India on this page.

A list of the top hybrid cars on a budget

The hybrid car, as we all know, is a vehicle that utilizes two or more separate energy sources to provide propulsion. There’s usually an internal combustion engine (often petrol-fueled) and an electric motor behind a hybrid car. A hybrid car uses an internal combustion engine and an electric motor to maximize fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.

Recently, hybrid vehicles have become increasingly popular in the Indian automotive industry. The reason for this is that hybrid vehicles are more fuel-efficient, making them an instant hit. Hybrid cars can be purchased in India for anywhere between Rs. 10.70 lakh and Rs. 2.69 crore. A hybrid electric vehicle is also available in a variety of options, including electric and petrol vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and mild hybrids. For your consideration, we have compiled a list of the best hybrid cars in India:

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara

Rs. 10.7 Lakh

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder

Rs. 10.73 Lakh

Honda City

Rs. 11.71 Lakh

Toyota Innova Hycross

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara

Grand Vitara is a compact SUV from Maruti Suzuki priced from Rs. 10.7 lakh (ex-showroom). Likewise, the Grand Vitara is available with two 1.5-litre petrol engines, like the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Maruti calls one of the engines a Smart Hybrid, while the other is an Intelligent Electric Hybrid. In addition, the Grand Vitara can also be ordered with Suzuki All Grip Select All-Wheel-Drive (AWD), which is available only with manual transmission and mild hybrid engines. A monochrome or dual-tone paint finish is available on 4 variants of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Getting the Grand Vitara (Ex-Showroom) costs Rs. 19.79 lakh.

While the new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara shares a similar silhouette to the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, its styling has been refined. The front end of the car has been designed uniquely by Maruti Suzuki India. With its single-slat grille and chrome inserts, it would have an aggressive stance, while the split headlamps would add to that. Black roofs and dual-tone alloy wheels are available on higher variants. LED taillights & a two-piece LED light bar can be found at the back of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara’s interior has dual-tone materials and soft-touch elements. This car gets Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, a fully digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and drive modes as well as the 9.0-inch smart play studio touchscreen infotainment system sourced from the recently launched Maruti Suzuki Baleno. There is also an auto climate control system, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated seats in the new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

Two petrol engines are available under the hood of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, as well as either a mild or strong hybrid system. In addition, the 1.5-litre Intelligent Electric Hybrid variant of the Grand Vitara delivers 27.97 kilometers per liter. At 5,500 rpm, the engine produces 114 horsepower and 122 Nm of peak torque. Only eCVT gearboxes are available with this engine. It delivers a claimed fuel economy of 21.11 km and belts out 101 hp and 6,000 rpm, as well as 137 Nm of peak torque at 4,400 rpm when fitted with the 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, K-Series mild hybrid powertrain. An automatic gearbox is also available on higher variants of this engine, as well as a six-speed manual unit.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder

Urban Cruiser Hyryder compact SUV prices were announced by Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM). To announce prices for the remaining variants in a phased manner, we have announced prices for the top four variants of the offering. (Ex-showroom, India) Prices for the top versions of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder range from Rs. 15.56 lakh to Rs. 19.74 lakh. In addition to a mild-hybrid 1.5-liter engine and CNG and strong-hybrid engines, AWD is an option on the new SUV.

There are two petrol engines in the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The 1.5-liter K-Series petrol engine has an integrated starter motor generator (ISG). When combined with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox, the engine produces around 100 horsepower and 135 Nm of peak torque. There is also a 1.5-liter hybrid engine with the Toyota Hybrid System and an e-drive gearbox. The engine produces 91 horsepower and 122 Nm of peak torque, with an electric motor providing 79 bhp and 141 Nm of rapid torque. The engine claims a fuel economy of 27.97 kilometers per liter. The CNG model is powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol engine as the Neo Drive models. In CNG mode, the engine produces 86.6 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 121.5 Nm of torque at 4200 rpm. The engine produces 99 horsepower and 136 Nm of peak torque in petrol mode. The CNG variant comes equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Honda City

As a popular mid-size sedan from the Japanese automaker Honda, the Honda City is a very popular car in the market today. There have been five generations of this vehicle since it first became available in 1981. As one of the most popular vehicles in the Honda City line-up, the stylish and modern design is complemented by impressive fuel efficiency and advanced safety technology. Depending on the engine type, the car can be fitted with either a petrol or diesel engine as well as a manual or automatic transmission. This latest Honda City model is equipped with a spacious and comfortable interior, along with advanced technologies such as an infotainment system with a touchscreen and smartphone connectivity as well as advanced safety features. In the City, you will find a perfect combination of style, performance, and reliability, which makes it a favorite choice among city commuters and families alike. One of the most iconic and recognizable cars on Indian roads is the Honda City, which has built a reputation for quality and innovation over the years.

Toyota Innova Hycross

Innova HyCross was launched in India by Toyota Kirloskar Motor. In December 2022, Toyota announced the prices of its MPV, which was expected to be introduced in January 2023. Starting at Rs. 18.30 lakh (ex-showroom), the Toyota Innova HyCross can reach Rs. 28.97 lakh (ex-showroom) for the ZX(O) model.

TNGA-C: The GA-C platform underpins Toyota’s new Innova HyCross, which is a significant upgrade over its predecessor. Unlike ladder-on-frame MPVs, it has a monocoque construction that reduces weight by 200 kg, and it is now a front-wheel drive car.

In addition to a 2.0-litre regular petrol engine, there is a new 5th generation TNGA 2.0-litre four-cylinder hybrid petrol engine. ECV and CVT automatic transmissions will be paired with the powertrains. This hybrid model will offer 21.1 km of fuel economy, which is best in class. Two electric motors are also mounted on the Innova HyCross.

While the main engine powers the car during launch, the second motor, or the bigger motor, recharges the battery pack through regenerative braking while also supporting the main engine. It takes the Innova HyCross 9.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph. Taking on the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari, as well as the Kia Carnival, Toyota’s new Innova HyCross aims to strengthen Toyota’s position in the MPV market. Belta and bZ4X are the upcoming models.

Maruti Suzuki Invicto

A flagship MPV from Maruti Suzuki India was launched in July 2023 – the Invicto MPV. Both the Zeta Plus and Alpha Plus are available in either a 7- or 8-seat configuration, but the top-spec Alpha only comes in a 7-seat configuration. It will be available through the Nexa dealership network (ex-showroom, Delhi) at a price between Rs. 24.79 lakh and Rs. 28.42 lakh.

A rebadged Toyota Innova Hycross launched in India in early 2022, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto is the latest out of the Suzuki-Toyota partnership. The Nexa brand will launch its third model in 2023. Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus will compete against the Invicto in India.

A new grille with the Suzuki logo and chrome slats adorns the front of the new Invicto. In the lower one, there is a continuous line. On the bumper, the chrome parts have been replaced by darker inserts, like on the Innova Hycross. The chrome elements also get a makeover. Invicto measures 4755mm long, 1850mm wide, and 1795mm high.

Also, the MPV’s profile has been updated with dual-tone alloy wheels. A 17-inch alloy wheel is featured on the Invicto instead of an 18-inch wheel on the Hycross. Only the model badge differentiates the Invicto from the Innova Hycross. A muscular rear bumper is included, along with horizontal LED taillamps.

The new Invicto has the same layout and design as the Hycross, but the appearance and trim color have been updated. Instead of silver accents, the inside is all-black with Champagne Gold accents. Maruti provides a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, automated temperature control, dual-zone air conditioning, IR cut windscreens, motorized tailgate, 360 view monitor, rear door sunshade, and more amenities.

In terms of technology, the MPV includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as in-built Suzuki Connect Technology with remote functions and 50+ linked features like e-Care, remote power window shut, remote seat ventilation, e-call, and so on. Maruti will also sell a Wireless Phone Charger, a Digital Video Recorder, and a Car Air Purifier as optional extras.

There are 6 airbags, all disc brakes, electronic parking brakes with auto hold, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control with hill hold assist, and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard safety equipment. The Invicto is also outfitted with 360-degree vision cameras and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

A 2.0-litre petrol engine coupled with innovative hybrid technology powers the new Maruti Suzuki Invicto. It’s a powerful self-charging hybrid system with a combined power output of 184 horsepower at 6000 RPM. The engine torque is 188 Nm at 4400-5200 rpm, while the electric motor provides 206 Nm. The engine is coupled to an e-CVT automatic gearbox, and the business claims a fuel economy of 23.24 km.

These are the best hybrid cars in India that offer a smooth driving experience without compromising on comfort. Every car is carefully engineered so that its performance and emissions are commendable while contributing to a clean and green environment. A wide selection of cars will be available on the Indian automotive market. You can improve your driving experience by purchasing a hybrid car.
