Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to flag off Maruti Suzuki India Limited’s first global battery electric vehicle (BEV), the e-Vitara , from the automaker’s Hansalpur plant in Gujarat on August 26, 2025 . This launch marks a defining moment for India’s electric mobility journey, as the Made-in-India electric SUV will not only cater to the domestic market but also be exported to over 100 countries , including key markets in Europe and Japan .
