Omega Seiki Mobility Launches 2,500 Pink Auto Rickshaws Driven by Women Across India

New Delhi, April 2025 — In a major push towards women empowerment and sustainable urban mobility, Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) has announced the deployment of 2,500 specially designed Pink Auto Rickshaws across India. This initiative is part of OSM’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts and is being carried out in collaboration with Naari Shakti – Women Welfare Charitable Trust.

These all-electric three-wheelers will be exclusively driven by women, aiming to create safer, more inclusive public transport while generating livelihood opportunities for female drivers. The initiative supports the dual mission of promoting green transportation and enabling women to step into roles traditionally dominated by men.

Affordable and Accessible

As part of its commitment to making electric vehicles accessible, OSM is offering the Pink Auto Rickshaws at an attractive price of ₹2,59,999 (on-road, Delhi). In addition, a special financing scheme with just 1% interest is being introduced to reduce the financial burden on new drivers, making it easier for women to own and operate their vehicles.

Phased Rollout Across Major Cities

The deployment will kick off in Delhi NCR, with plans to expand to Bangalore, North Karnataka, and Chennai in the coming months. This phased approach allows for comprehensive training, community engagement, and infrastructure support to ensure the success of the initiative.

Safety-First Design

The Pink Auto Rickshaws are not just eco-friendly but also designed with safety in mind. Each vehicle comes equipped with:

  • GPS tracking systems
  • Emergency alert buttons
  • Secure communication links with control centers for rapid response in case of any issues

These features aim to reassure both drivers and passengers, particularly women and children, who often face safety concerns when using public transport.

A Vision for Empowerment

Speaking about the initiative, an OSM spokesperson stated, “We believe real progress is when women feel safe and empowered to take charge. Through this collaboration with Naari Shakti, we’re not just putting more EVs on the road—we’re driving change, one Pink Auto at a time.”

The project aligns with India’s broader goals of increasing electric vehicle adoption and supporting women in entrepreneurship and mobility sectors. It stands as a strong example of how the private sector can play a pivotal role in social transformation.
