Ola Electric has launched its much-awaited electric scooters Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro with a price tag of Rs 99,999 and Rs 1.29 lakh respectively. This price is ex-showroom including FAME II subsidy and excludes state subsidies. It can be purchased from 8th September and the deliveries will commence from October in 1,000 cities and towns all across India. Features  

Proximity lock/unlocks

The Ola electric scooters are available in 10 stunning colours in satin, matte and glossy finishes., etc. The electric scooter is having some unique features that come with iconic twin headlamps, ergonomic and fluidic body, superior alloy wheels, sculpted seating, and the largest boot space that fits two helmets comfortably. Apart from that, it has proximity lock/unlocks which allows the vehicle to sense the owner walking towards/away it and locks/unlocks on its own. The vehicle is completely keyless and can be locked by either proximity sensors, touchscreen display or the app.

3 driving modes & 4 sound options 

It has a multi-microphone array, AI speech recognition algorithms and has the sharpest, brightest 7-inch touchscreen display. The company’s homegrown MoveOS allows the customers can not only alter the look & feel of the display but also hear the scooter sounds. It has 4 HMI moods Bolt, Care, Vintage and Wonder which is customised vehicle sound. It will also come with three driving modes-Normal, Sport and Hyper.

Cruise & reverse mode & voice recognition 

Its key features include an anti-theft alert system, geo-fencing, front and rear disc brakes and the ‘Hill Hold’ feature which makes riding in traffic and navigating inclines easy. A rear mono-shock suspension and front single fork suspension, cruise mode, reverse mode, a side step and sculpted seating, voice recognition

Charging time 

Ola S1 scooter can be fully charged at home in 4hr 48 min or 50 per cent charging in 18 mins at Ola’s fast-charging stations. Whereas the Ola S1 Pro with home charging can be charged in 6hr 30 mins and with the fast-charging time it will take same as the S1, 18 minutes. In18 minutes of fast charging it will give a range of 75 Km.

Technical specifications

The electric scooter is powered by a Hyperdrive motor that can produce a peak power output of 8.5kW. S1 is said to have a top speed of 90 Km/hr and with a 2.98-kilowatt-hour battery pack, it can give a range of 121 Km, while the Ola S1 Pro will have a top speed of 115 Km/hr and a 3.97-kilowatt-hour battery pack, it can give a range of 181 Km.

Both the models can accelerate 0 to 40km/hr speed in 3.6 sec and 3 sec respectively. Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro come with 2 riding modes normal and sports and normal, sports and hyper.

Price & EMI

The company says in states with active subsidy grants, Ola S1 will be much more affordable than many petrol scooters. For example, after state subsidy in Delhi, the S1 would cost just Rs 85,099 whereas in Gujarat it would be only Rs 79,999. In Maharashtra, it is priced at Rs 94,999 for Ola S1 and Rs 1,24,999 for Ola S1 Pro.

Whereas in Rajasthan it is costing Rs 89,968 and Rs 1,19,138 respectively and it is costing Rs 99,999 and Rs 1.29 lakh respectively in all other states. It has also tied up with banks and financial institutes for an EMI plan starting at Rs 2,999.

Booking- most pre-booked scooter in the world 

The Ola electric scooter has received a great response from the customers, it has received 1 lakh reservations within 24 hours of opening of bookings. With 1 lakh of pre-booking, it has made Ola electric scooter the most pre-booked scooter in the world. Earlier, the company had said that those who have pre-booked the scooter from the company’s website will get delivery on priority.

Rivals

The Ola Electric will compete with the already launched (existing) electric scooters Ather Energy, TVS, Bajaj, Hero Electric, Ampere Vehicles, Okinawa Scooters, etc.
