Okinawa discontinues lead-acid battery scooters will sell only li-ion scooters
A leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer Okinawa Scooter has said that it has discontinued the sale of lead-acid battery-based products in the country. The company will not manufacture and has already stopped manufacturing the lead-acid scooter variants and will only focus on the lithium-ion versions.
Okinawa started its journey with lead-acid battery scooter
The startup started its electric scooters journey with the lead-acid scooter Okinawa Ridge and later on it introduced the four lead-acid scooters in three years.
Okinawa MD and Founder Jeetender Sharma said that “We are shifting to 100 per cent lithium-ion battery pack based two-wheelers. When we launched the brand, lead acid was the most advanced option available in the market. Now, with rigorous growth of the industry and the brand, we have taken a step ahead and have discontinued lead-acid battery pack-based products.”
Okinawa launched exchange offer for petrol two-wheelers
In another initiative towards eco-friendly movement, the company has recently partnered with an online platform for used bikes CredR to launch the exchange offer on any petrol-based two-wheeler for an electric scooter.
This scheme will be initially launched in Ahmedabad, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Bangalore and Pune and later on it will expand to other cities across the country. The CredR will offer instant quotes for old petrol scooters so that the cost of the Okinawa scooters get reduces.
To get the benefit of the scheme customers to need to bring their old petrol two-wheelers for a physical inspection and valuation at any Okinawa showroom. The CredR will immediately show the estimated price quote. The CredR will verify the documents and health status of the petrol vehicle and completes the transaction.
