Nitin Gadkari says scrappage policy to create 50,000 job opportunities in India
The Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways and MSME, Sh. Nitin Gadkari has welcomed the Voluntary scrappage policy which was announced in the Union Budget 2021-22.
The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her budget announced the voluntary vehicle scrapping policy to phase out old and unfit vehicles. The vehicles would undergo fitness tests. People with personal vehicles have to undergo a fitness test after 20 years of the purchase of their vehicle and in case of commercial vehicles, the vehicles should undergo a fitness test after 15 years.
The new vehicle scrapping policy will be implemented in the country on 1st April 2022. The declaration of the policy will be done within 15 days from the day the budget has been announced.

Nitin Gadkari said that the Vehicle scrappage policy will lead to a new investment of around Rs.10,000 crores. It will also create as many as 50,000 job opportunity in India.

This move of the government will not only help to replace the older and polluting vehicles in the country but also it creates more than 50,000 employment opportunities to the people. This will benefit to the people those who lost their jobs during the global pandemic and lockdown.
