Montra Electric, a leader in the electric vehicle (EV) space, has taken a significant step toward strengthening its position in the commercial EV segment with the inauguration of its dedicated e-SCV (electric small commercial vehicle) manufacturing plant in Ponneri, Chennai. The facility is operated under Montra Electric’s e-SCV division, Tivolt Electric Vehicles, and is spearheaded by industry veterans Arun Murugappan, Jalaj Gupta, and SAJU NAIR.
State-of-the-Art Manufacturing Facility
Located strategically near the Kolkata Highway, 35 km from Chennai, the new facility spans an impressive 5 lakh square feet. The plant is equipped with modern manufacturing capabilities and has an annual production capacity of 50,000 vehicles. This expansion aligns with Montra Electric’s vision of accelerating EV adoption and boosting India’s clean mobility efforts.
Launch of EVIATOR – Montra Electric’s Latest e-SCV
The Ponneri plant will focus on manufacturing the latest addition to Montra Electric’s commercial vehicle lineup – the EVIATOR. This cutting-edge e-SCV offers a combination of performance, efficiency, and advanced technology. Key specifications of the EVIATOR include:

Mr. Arun Murugappan, Executive Chairman of Tube Investments of India Limited (TII), expressed his excitement about the establishment of TICMPL’s (Tube Investments Clean Mobility Private Limited) first dedicated e-SCV manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu.
