MG Windsor EV Surges Past 27,000 Sales in 8 Months, Drives EV Boom in Non-Metro India
JSW MG Motor India’s all-electric Windsor EV has clocked over 27,000 units sold in just eight months, securing its position as India’s top-selling electric vehicle. A significant 48% of sales came from non-metro regions, underscoring the growing EV demand beyond urban hubs and highlighting a shift in mobility preferences across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
Fueling this momentum is the recently launched Windsor EV PRO variant, which has seen 8,000 bookings within 24 hours. The PRO version boasts a larger 52.9 kWh battery, delivering a claimed range of 449 km, along with Level-2 ADAS, a 15.6-inch touchscreen, reclining rear seats, and six airbags.
Its Battery-as-a-Service model—starting at just ₹9.99 lakh plus battery usage charges—has also contributed to its widespread appeal, offering affordability with flexibility. The Windsor has garnered over 30 industry awards, including the prestigious Green Car Award 2025 by iCOTY.
With advanced features, attractive pricing, and strong traction in semi-urban markets, the Windsor EV is redefining electric mobility in India and fast-tracking MG’s leadership in the EV space.
