MG Motor and Hindustan Petroleum Join Forces to Supercharge India’s EV Infrastructure

MG Motor, a leading manufacturer of electric vehicles (EVs) in India, has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a major oil and gas company, to significantly boost the country’s EV charging network. This strategic collaboration aims to address the growing demand for convenient and reliable charging options for electric car owners.

Enhancing Accessibility with Fast Chargers

Under this partnership, MG Motor and HPCL will establish a network of 50kW and 60kW DC fast chargers at strategically selected HPCL petrol pumps across cities and highways. These high-powered chargers will significantly reduce charging times, making long-distance travel in electric vehicles more feasible and convenient.

Benefits for All EV Drivers

The upcoming charging stations will be compatible with the CCS 2 charging standard, making them accessible to a wide range of electric vehicles, not just MG ZS EV owners. This inclusive approach will benefit the entire EV ecosystem in India.

Transparency and User Convenience

The location details of these charging stations will be readily available on both MG Motor’s MyMG App and HPCL’s network discovery tool. This transparency will empower EV drivers to plan their journeys efficiently and locate charging stations effortlessly.

Aligning with Greener Future

This partnership reflects MG Motor and HPCL’s commitment to a sustainable future. By expanding the EV charging infrastructure, they aim to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in India, thereby reducing reliance on fossil fuels and promoting cleaner mobility solutions.

A Promising Step Forward

MG Motor’s collaboration with HPCL is a significant step towards building a robust and accessible EV charging network in India. This initiative is expected to address range anxiety, a major concern for many potential EV buyers, and pave the way for a smoother transition towards a greener transportation landscape.
