Mercedes Ups the Electrification Ante: G-Class EV Charges into India

Buckle up, luxury electric vehicle (EV) enthusiasts! Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to launch its most expensive electric SUV yet in India – the mighty G-Class EQG, also known as the EQC G-Wagon. This powerhouse on wheels is expected to arrive sometime next year, redefining luxury and off-road capability in the electric segment.

Electric Performance Meets G-Class Legacy:

The EQC G-Wagon boasts a hefty 116 kWh battery pack, promising a range of over 470 km (WLTP) on a single charge. That’s enough to conquer city commutes and even handle light off-road adventures.

But the EQC G-Wagon isn’t just about range. Four powerful electric motors – one at each wheel – churn out a combined output of a staggering 587 horsepower and a mind-bending 1,164 Nm of torque. This translates to a blistering 0-100 kmph time of less than 5 seconds, making it a true performance beast despite its hefty build.

Luxury Inside and Out:

Expect the EQC G-Wagon to uphold the G-Class legacy of opulent interiors. Mercedes will likely offer premium features like a dual-screen infotainment system, a driver display, a top-notch sound system, and a plethora of driver-assistance technologies.

A Hefty Price Tag for an Exclusive Offering:

Given the import taxes and the sheer opulence of the vehicle, the EQC G-Wagon is expected to carry a price tag close to ₹3 crore (ex-showroom). This positions it as an exclusive offering for a discerning clientele seeking the ultimate blend of electric performance, luxury, and off-road prowess.

The Wait is On:

While an official launch date hasn’t been announced, industry speculations suggest a 2025 arrival for the EQC G-Wagon in India. Bookings are already open, allowing serious buyers to secure their piece of electric luxury.

The arrival of the EQC G-Wagon marks a significant moment for the Indian EV market, signifying the growing demand for high-performance electric SUVs. Get ready to witness a new era of electric luxury on Indian roads!
