Mahindra Delivers Over 3,000 Origin Electric SUVs Within Weeks of Launch

Mahindra & Mahindra has achieved a significant milestone by delivering over 3,000 units of its all-electric SUVs—the XEV 9e and BE 6—across India since the commencement of deliveries on March 20, 2025. This accomplishment underscores the company’s growing footprint in the electric vehicle (EV) sector.
Booking and Delivery Insights
The XEV 9e has garnered 59% of the bookings, while the BE 6 accounts for the remaining 41%. Notably, a substantial number of customers have opted for the top-tier Pack Three variant. In certain regions, the surge in demand has led to waiting periods extending up to six months. To address this, Mahindra is actively enhancing its delivery capacity nationwide.
Enhancements for First-Time EV Users
To facilitate a smoother transition for first-time EV owners, Mahindra has introduced a ‘Default’ drive mode that emulates the driving characteristics of traditional internal combustion engine vehicles. Additionally, the company provides instructional videos with each vehicle delivery, covering essential topics such as charging practices, range optimization techniques, and utilization of the SUV’s connected technology features.
Vehicle Specifications
Both the XEV 9e and BE 6 are built on Mahindra’s INGLO Electric Origin Architecture, designed specifically for electric vehicles. They offer two battery options—59 kWh and 79 kWh. The BE 6 boasts a certified range of up to 682 km, while the XEV 9e offers up to 656 km, as per MIDC Part 1 & 2 testing. Both models support fast charging, capable of charging from 20% to 80% in under 20 minutes using a 175 kW DC charger. Performance-wise, the BE 6 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, and the XEV 9e in 6.8 seconds. Both SUVs are powered by a 210 kW motor and feature advanced suspension systems for enhanced driving dynamics.
This milestone reflects Mahindra’s commitment to advancing electric mobility in India and meeting the increasing demand for sustainable transportation options.
