EQE is Mercedes’s third EV in India
The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV has been launched in India by the company. There is only one variant of the EQE 500 4Matic SUV available for Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom). Following the EQB and EQS, the EQE is the brand’s third electric vehicle.
Exterior Design & Interior Features
The new EQE SUV has a design similar to Mercedes-Benz’s EQ series, showcasing clean lines and sleek curves. The closed grille and aerodynamic wheels are other functional styling cues taken from other electric vehicles.
It has a wheelbase of 3,030mm, a length of 4,863mm, a height of 1,685mm, and a width of 4,863mm.
With regards to the interior, the EQE 500 is equipped with Mercedes’ 56-inch Hyperscreen (standard) which includes three screens at the dashboard of the vehicle.
In addition, you also get a 15-speaker Burmester sound system, a massage function for the front seats, a high-efficiency particulate air filter for the cabin, and ADAS.
A Detailed Look at the Powertrain
As the only premium variant, the EQE 500 SUV is equipped with a dual-motor AWD drive system. The dual motor setup can produce 408 horsepower and 858 Nm of torque. Additionally, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. The vehicle is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 210 kilometers per hour.
With the aid of a 90kWh battery pack, the SUV is claimed to be able to travel for up to 550 km on a single charge, depending on the driving conditions.
Rivals of the Mercedes-Benz EQE
On the Indian market, the Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 will compete with the BMW iX, Jaguar I-Pace, and Audi Q8 e-tron models.
