Karnataka is the first Indian state government to introduce an Electric Vehicle Policy. Chief Minister of Karnataka H D Kumaraswamy taking steps towards e mobility transformation by launching electric car and two-wheeler charging stations at Vidhana Soudha.

Speaking to the media about the charging station inauguration, he said that the government taking some strategic moves to rapidly promote electric vehicles and its benefits to the Environment.
As a part of the e-mobility transformation, the government taking steps to increase the electric vehicles utilization by using 50% of upcoming government vehicles as electric. In addition to that, the government also discussing how much subsidies can be given for electric vehicle charging stations and even exemptions on road tax.
