Kia 2.0 strategy for India includes EV9
Kia India has unveiled an innovative transformation strategy dubbed ‘Kia 2.0’ in which the brand aims to capture 10% market share in the highly competitive Indian market in the coming years. Among the new strategies the company will be implementing, Kia Motors will introduce more models, including the all-electric EV9, and double its touch points to around 600. As a result, domestic sales and market share will continue to increase shortly.
Coming back to the EV9, the all-electric SUV is set to appear on sale in India next year, making it Kia’s second electric SUV for India after the EV6. “Next year we also want to launch the EV9, which will truly be the pinnacle of our EV lineup,” said Park Tae-jin, CEO of Kia Motors India. Stated. , the updated EV9 and EV6 models sit at the premium end of the EV market. The all-new Indian-made mass-market EVs won’t reach showrooms until 2025.
EV9 is a worldwide flagship model of Kia
The EV9 is Kia Motors’ most expensive and largest electric SUV in the world. It is the first all-new Kia developed entirely under former BMW stylist Karim Habib. The EV9 is a decent upright SUV with a distinct two-box design. We got some bold styling cues that are slowly trickling down to other Kia models. It features a three-row cabin and multiple seating arrangements depending on the variant. Kia says the EV9 electric SUV is the answer to similarly expensive and large electric SUVs from BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz.
Powertrain, range, and battery options for the Kia EV9
The EV9 is available internationally in three drive variants. The series starts with the EV9 RWD with a 76.1 kWh battery. Next up is the long-range EV9 RWD version with a 99.8 kWh battery. The top-of-the-line EV9 AWD has two electric motors. Kia Motors has not announced the cruising range of its top model, the EV9.
Details of Kia EV9’s Entry into India
At launch, the EV9 will be India’s most expensive Kia car. It competes with the BMW iX in some markets. Judging by the price of a fully imported BMW iX in India above Rs 10 crore, the EV9 is expected to be similarly priced. Like its German competitors, the SUV will be sold exclusively as a fully imported vehicle. In addition to the EV9, an all-new Carnival MPV, and Sonnet facelift are set to launch in India next year.
