Hyundai’s first electric minibus “County Electric”
The largest automotive manufacturer, Hyundai has launched its first electric minibus for shorter commutes which is equipped with a 128kWh battery pack. Nowadays electric buses have become so popular for public and mass transportations and many fleets are looking forward to electrifying their fleets. We have always seen bigger electric buses like BYD but here we get to see something different from a mini electric bus.
Hyundai’s first electric minibus
Hyundai has launched its mini electric bus named “County Electric”. While looking into its technical terms, it is 7,710-mm-long and is equipped with a high power lithium-ion polymer battery of 128 kWh which gives a range of 250 km on a full charge. The Country Electric has a seating capacity of 15 to 33 seats.
The battery can be fully charged in 72 minutes using a standard Combo 1 DC system(based on 150kW charging), which helps ensure reliability. The bus can be charged using a household 220V outlet, which takes 17 hours, a 220V charger is provided as an option.

It has some wonderful features such as AOH brake system, heavy-duty brakes, Wheelspin prevention, stability control at each wheel, hill assist, parking brake, auxiliary braking system, 7-inch colour LCD instrument panel, 2 auxiliary screens
It is equipped with the latest safety technologies to prevent accidents when passengers get on and off. The features such as sensors located near the middle of the door which includes an ultrasonic sensor, prevent the door from closing while the passenger is getting on and off and is connected to the bus’s acceleration pedal which stops the bus when passenger movement is detected.
The County Electric also comes with a virtual engine sound system and rear parking assist system to warn pedestrians and prevent accidents.
Yoon Lee, vice president and head of commercial vehicles at Hyundai said that County Electric is a zero-emission bus that offers tremendous safety and convenience features for drivers and passengers. With demand for electric vehicles rising in the commercial vehicle market, Hyundai is accelerating its introduction of vehicles such as the County Electric.
The Hyundai Motor’s first minibus ‘Country Electric’ vehicle will be first going to be deployed in Korea where it is going to electrify some shorter bus routes.
