In a major boost to India’s automotive innovation landscape, Hyundai Motor Company has announced an investment of ₹8,528 crore to establish a state-of-the-art Global Innovation Research and Development Centre in Telangana. The facility will be located at the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) in Zaheerabad.
Sprawling 675-Acre Facility to Drive Next-Gen Automotive Innovation Spread across 675 acres, the upcoming R&D hub is set to become a cornerstone of Hyundai’s global strategy for next-generation mobility. It will host a wide range of infrastructure, including a pilot production line, a high-speed automotive test track, prototyping platforms, an advanced press stamping tool shop, and multiple cutting-edge testing centres.
Advanced Infrastructure to Support Hyundai and Kia Development The centre will serve both Hyundai and Kia Motors, facilitating joint research and development across both brands. This collaborative approach is expected to fast-track innovations in electric vehicles, autonomous driving technologies, and smart mobility solutions.
Project Approved by Telangana Government, to Create Over 4,200 Jobs The Telangana State Industrial Promotion Sub-Committee has given formal approval to the project. The initiative is projected to generate over 4,276 direct employment opportunities, particularly benefiting local youth and skilled professionals in the region.
