Hyundai Expands Creta Electric Line-up with New Variants and Features

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has officially expanded the Creta Electric portfolio with the introduction of new variants, enhanced features, and improved driving range. Following the success of the ICE Creta updates, Hyundai has brought similar upgrades to the electric counterpart, further strengthening its presence in India’s EV market.

Updated Variant Line-up

The Creta Electric now comes in multiple variants across two battery pack options: 42 kWh (MR – Medium Range) and 51.4 kWh (LR – Long Range).

  • Creta Long Range (LR) – 51.4 kWh battery pack
    • Earlier, only two variants were offered: Smart (O) and Excellence.
    • Hyundai has now added a third variant: Executive (O).
    • Updated LR Variants:
      • Executive (O)
      • Smart (O)
      • Excellence
  • Creta Medium Range (MR) – 42 kWh battery pack
    • Previously offered in four trims: Executive, Smart, Smart (O), Premium.
    • Now, the Smart trims have been axed and replaced with new names.
    • Updated MR Variants:
      • Executive
      • Executive Tech
      • Premium
      • Excellence

Additionally, Premium and Excellence trims now get Hyundai Car (HC) connected features.

Key Updates & Features

  • Battery Packs & Range:
    • 42 kWh pack – range improved from 390 km to 420 km (ARAI certified).
    • 51.4 kWh pack – range improved from 473 km to 510 km.
  • Technology & Comfort:
    • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay now come as standard across all variants.
    • Hyundai is offering a built-in dashcam and rear wireless charger, enhancing convenience and safety.
  • Design Updates:
    • Two new colours introduced: Matte Black and Shadow Grey, giving buyers more personalization options.

Positioning & Market Impact

The Creta Electric has been designed to cater to both city commuters and long-distance EV enthusiasts. With its improved driving range and diversified variant line-up, Hyundai aims to make the Creta Electric more accessible to a wider set of buyers. The introduction of new features like a dashcam, rear wireless charging, and wireless smartphone connectivity adds to the SUV’s tech appeal.

By offering 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery packs, Hyundai ensures that the Creta Electric addresses both affordability and long-range requirements. This dual strategy positions the Creta Electric as a strong contender in India’s growing mid-size electric SUV market.

Conclusion

The Hyundai Creta Electric 2025 line-up is now more versatile than ever, with seven distinct variants across two battery configurations. With enhanced features, improved range, and stylish new colours, Hyundai is clearly aiming to capture a larger share of the EV market while strengthening customer trust in its electric mobility strategy.
