Hyundai Electric mini SUV costs less than 10 lakh ranges 250 km 

Hyundai Motor Company is planning to bring a low-cost electric mini SUV in India by mid-2023. This mini electric SUV comes under the company’s ‘Smart EV’ project and will be priced below Rs 10 lakh.

The company’s Smart EV project includes a minimum of three budget electric vehicles that will be particularly designed for developing markets including India. The first model from this project will be launched in next year.

This budget-friendly Hyundai electric cars will provide a range of 200 km. The electric SUV will come as an affordable option to petrol-diesel hatchbacks and crossovers. These small SUVs is mostly used for city commutes. We can expect that the manufacturer will display the small SUV in its concept form at the 2022 Auto Expo. The new Hyundai electric small SUV will be designed on a modified ICE platform which helps the manufacturer to keep an eye on the manufacturing cost and work.

The carmaker’s longest-range SUV Hyundai Kona Electric have advanced range and features but this small SUV will not have. Hyundai’s new electric SUV will be produced in India. It might export it to the other emerging markets where e-mobility is something in the initial stage.

The carmaker is also launching its Nexo fuel cell electric SUV in the Indian market. The fuel cell drivetrain which is used in SUV is much lighter than a regular electric powertrain. It provides a range of 609 km in a single charge.
