HPCL launches EV chargers incorporated within streetlamp columns

We can see EV charging infrastructure these days has become the main focus of the government as well as some of the EV charging infrastructure providers. Every day we get to hear something or the other improvement or development about the EV charging infra, that is actually important and necessary in the development and adoption of electric vehicles. 

HPCL launches EV chargers

From governments such as the Maharashtra government has recently proposed Rs 9,453 Crore for EV charging stations. Delhi government under its ‘Switch Delhi’ campaign is focusing on EV charging infrastructure in its fifth week of launch. A Kerala based EV charging infrastructure Relux Electric provider has also launched its 52nd EV charger recently.

By developing Apps, creating special awareness campaigns, proposing tenders, installing charging stations for developing EV charging infrastructure has become a regular process to develop charging facilities all over India.

In the latest initiative in the charging infrastructure segment, the State-run Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) has launched a first of its kind EV charger in collaboration with Magenta EV Systems under its start-up development program.

“ChargeGrid Flare” is the EV charger branded incorporated within energy-efficient streetlamp columns. This kind of EV chargers will encourage EV adoption as it is flexible to install and use and also it is low in cost. “These chargers are State-of-the-Art & can cater to all range of new Generation E-Vehicles of all reputed brands,” HPCL said.

With the launch of the latest EV charger, the HPCL has 50 charging stations launched. It plans to install a “ChargeGrid Flare” range of chargers at its retail outlets pan India.
