A first glimpse of Tork electric scooter along with the Tork motorcycle. |
There was also a Tork electric motorcycle test mule along with the Tork electric scooter – both wrapped in camouflage similar to that of the scooter
2W vehicles have proven to be more popular than 4W vehicles in promoting electric mobility, as the upfront cost of these vehicles is much lower. It is evident that there is a significant shift in gravity towards electric scooters rather than motorcycles within the 2W envelope. We have received the same response from customers. With its new electric scooter, Pune-based Tork Motors hopes to take a share of this market.
For the first time, a Tork electric scooter has been spotted testing
As of now, Tork Motors is a leading player in the electric motorcycle market. As compared to electric scooters, this segment has seen limited activity. There is some prospective opportunity for growth for other motorcycle manufacturers and newcomers in the absence of mainstream motorcycle manufacturers such as Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha. Ola Electric and Ather Energy are new entrants to the market. A number of mainstream OEMs have also established themselves in the electric scooter space, including TVS, Bajaj, and Hero MotoCorp. Tork is playing its hand at the big table with big blinds, betting big on its upcoming electric scooter. There is just one picture from the back and not a lot is known about its specifications. That said, we can deduce quite a lot of details about this upcoming Tork electric scooter. For starters, this would be Tork Motors’ first electric scooter, which has been primarily an electric motorcycle manufacturer.
Exactly what can be expected?
According to the appearance, Tork Motors appears to be targeting the affordable family scooter genre, a market that has gained a great deal of attention in recent years. The competition in this space includes companies such as Simple Energy, TVS, Bajaj Chetak, and Ola, while Ather is currently testing its product. As part of its plans to expand into this market, Honda, the scooter juggernaut in India, plans to enter this segment as well. A wide, single-piece seat can be found on the vehicle. Below that can be seen a large tail light, possibly made of LEDs. Grab rails will also be included in the production version. According to what I can see, it appears that there is an electric motor mounted on the swingarm. The left side of the vehicle reveals a shock absorber. As the number of spy shots is limited, it is unclear whether a single-sided shock absorbing setup is being used or a twin shock absorbing system.
Is there a new electric motorcycle by Kratos ?
The center stand is also large. In principle, the Kratos electric motorcycle will be able to use the same powertrain components, but they will have different capacities and configurations. A single charge should provide approximately 100 kilometers of real-world range. To continue the discussion of Kratos, a new electric motorcycle appears to be being tested by Tork as well.
As can be seen in the spy shots, an electric motorcycle is testing alongside an electric scooter by Tork. A variant of this product may fall under the Kratos brand, or it may spawn a subbrand under the Kratos brand. Currently, there is no information about this motorcycle in order to establish visual differences from the current Kratos that is on sale in India.
