EVs sales cross 7.5 lakh units in the financial year 2018-2019 in India. The country is witnessing the fastest growth of EVs from last past year that is in 2018.
EVs sales cross 7.5 lakh units From 2018-2019 in India
The sales of the EVs in all three categories such as electric two-wheeler, three-wheeler, a four-wheeler. The sales doubled up in terms of electric two-wheelers and increased thrice in electric cars. 1.83 Electric vehicles were sold in India last financial year.
EVs sales cross 7.5 lakh units-31.8% increase in growth
As India ranks the fourth largest position in the automobile market in the world last year as EVs industry has taken a jump by the sales over 7.5 lakh units in FY 2018-19. When the EV growth is compared with the last year it has recorded a 31.8% increase in the growth.
Government’s push on E-mobility
This could happen with the government support as it has made the necessary push to bring in EVs or to promote EVs in the country concerning the increasing vehicular pollution and to fulfill the aim to have at least 30 percent of EVs on road by 2030.
EVs sales-Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV) Data
According to an association of Indian manufacturers of EVs and their components, Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV) E-mobility industry has bagged some great numbers in terms of sales in all the three segments includes two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers.
The data is collected by the SMEV from every EV manufacturer of India said that the total sales of EVs in the FY 2018-19 was 7,59,600 units.
It includes the sales of electric two-wheelers- 1,26,000, electric three-wheelers-6,30,000 and electric four-wheelers-3,600.
Four-wheelers sales growth increased to 200 percent
The sales numbers witnesses the 130 percent growth of electric two-wheelers, growth of four-wheelers is 200 percent and three-wheelers growth is reached to 21 percent.
