EV manufacturer Evolet to set up manufacturing facility in Telangana

Evolet an electric arm of Gurugram-based Rissala Electric Motors, a startup from veterans defence officers of India are now fighting a different battle, a battle against pollution-a fight for clean air and good technology. It has already marked its steps in e-mobilty world with the launch of its 5 new electric vehicles earlier this year. But now it is eager to set up assembly and manufacturing facilities in Telangana.

The company is planning to build an assembly plant for electric two-wheelers to serve both domestic and export markets. It also plans to set up production lines for ancillaries such as EV motors, controllers and batteries.

It wants to establish a lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility. The decision will be taken in 2021 first half. It is looking forward to investing Rs 500 crore to set up this facility. Currently, it has it manufactures vehicles at its Manesar, Haryana facility, the built-up area of 1.4 lakh sq ft. It is capable to manufacture 3.5 lakh two-wheeler per annum.

Evolet to plant a tree for each e-scooter sold

It has completed its design and engineering of e-buses and is now in the process of building and developing state-of-the-art buses that will reduce payloads by 45 per cent. Evolet also plans to acquire manufacturing units in India for three-wheelers and four-wheelers.

The company wants to extend its dealer networks across Telangana. Evolet India’s portfolio consists of electric scooters, motorcycles, mopeds, quad bikes, jeeps, autos and buses. It aims for 150 touchpoints pan-India by December 2020 and desires to also be in the aerospace sector and sees the possibility of getting into production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Telangana.

Evolet electric two-wheelers at India price starts ₹39,499

The startup has introduced its entry-level products which include the Evolet Polo Pony, Polo, and Derby electric scooters. The prices for the Pony begin at ₹ 39,499, and for the Polo, at ₹ 44,499 while prices for the Derby begin at ₹ 46,499.

These models are available in 2 variants each and with different battery types such as Valve-regulated lead-acid or lithium-ion. The electric scooters with entry-level models are equipped with the brushless DC motors.
