Amara Raja installed EV battery charging and swapping stations also introduced a fleet of e-Autos in Tirupati. The launch of this initiative is with collaboration with the Tirupati Municipal Corporation as part of its smart city program.
EV charging, swapping stations & e-Autos fleet in Tirupati launched by Amara Raja
The battery packs of lithium-ion and EV battery charging stations and swapping stations are designed in the state-of-the-art R&D facilities of Amara Raja. The company recently added a Lithium-Ion battery pack manufacturing facility of 500MWH capacity at its Tirupati manufacturing unit.

The chairman of Amara Raja Group, Ramachandra N Galla says that the company is committed to participating in the government’s goal of e-mobility in the country. Amara Raja is observing the market trends and opportunities for business in the field of electric mobility and taken some strong steps towards its R&D capability to develop battery packs for EVs and EV charging stations.
Mr. Girisha P.S, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Tirupati said that “Tirupati is one of the most visited pilgrim city in the country and therefore it is apt for it to undertake such an initiative towards e-mobility. It is definitely a crucial step towards transforming Tirupati into a green city.”

He also added that more such EV charging stations will come up soon in the city and he is talking to the relevant authorities to take this enterprise forward with renewed momentum.
Dr.Galla thanked the Tirupati Municipal Corporation authorities and the commissioner Mr. Girisha P.S, IAS for giving a chance to collaborate with the corporation letting the installation of EV charging stations and run a fleet of e-Autos in Tirupati. He also thanked Rashtria Seva Samithi (RASS), an NGO based out of Tirupati for their support in arranging the women drivers for the fleet which is an opportunity for the self-employment and empowering the women.
