When you start thinking about the origin of the electric car and you are stuck at Reva Electric, then the origin of the first rechargeable electric car is going to surprise you. It dates back to the 80s and when we mention 80s we mean 1880 (not 1980) which is ahead of Benz’s patent-motorwagen in 1885.

electric car were gaining popularity along with Internal combustion cars but an increase in fuel availability and mass production of I.C engine cars made people change their perspective about the practical car. People started admiring them again after 100 years when Tesla motors showcased the acceleration of an EV which is available only in high-performance supercars. Let’s analyze the pros and cons of fuel and e-cars.

Electric cars come back to market was experimental and tough until Tesla proved the electric car potential to the masses. People loved this car after they realized it’s ability to accelerate. Charge time, charging network and range anxiety factors has been ignored by most of the drivers due to their performance.

But, Tesla has always kept its best efforts and tried to reduce the consumer issues with improvements in fast charging tech, supercharging network setup, etc. This zero-emission and high-performance car sales made other gas-powered car makers push their limits to grab a piece in the growing electric car market.

The skateboard platform, which is now being implemented in most electric cars has increased the inner and boot space for cars has been an added advantage over IC cars. The easy control of electric cars has made things simple for those who drive in constant moving traffic of urban areas.  

Internal combustion cars

It’s obvious that internal combustion-powered cars enjoyed a monopoly while contributing to emissions. I.C cars are considered expensive to operate even after the purchase with regular service requirements in order to be in perfect condition. Due to the presence of more moving parts, the wear and tear probability is also high. These factors reduced the purchase rate in developing countries when compared to developed nations. They aren’t easy to drive when compared to most of the e-cars at the same price.

The increasing concern for emissions is also making governments reduce reliance on crude oil and this scenario is making automakers to turn into all-electric vehicle manufacturers.

Conclusion

The innovation rate in electric car space is exponential when compared to IC cars. electric cars were also trying to include the flagship features into an affordable electric car. With upcoming advancements in clean battery tech and autonomous driving tech, electric cars are ready to takeover I.C cars.
