Ducati unveils e-Scrambler electric bike

Ducati a very popular Italian motorcycle manufacturer has unveiled its e-Scrambler electric bike.
Its no strange that Ducati is connected to electric bikes as we already know that the company has produced a number of electric bikes since last few years in the parntership with a bicycle company ‘Thok’ Earlier it has focused on high-performance electric mountain bikes but now the company’s new Ducati e-Scrambler puts it squarely in urban territory.

The e-Scrambler is an urban trekking bike with a Shimano electric bicycle system at its core. It features the Shimano Steps E7000 motor of 250 watts which produces a 60 Nm of torque, all from a pint-sized 2.8 kg (6 lb) mid-drive setup. It gets power with a 504 Wh Shimano battery. It can get around 75 miles of extrapolated range with a medium pedalling effort.

It has a pair of 4-piston Sram Guide T units clamping down on some giant 203 mm rotors. Sram also provides the transmission, an NX 11-speed in the rear. It gets the Thok’s e-plus wheels sporting Pirelli Cycl-e GT 27.5″x2.35″ tires.

It comes with a seat post, integrated lights and a rear rack rated for 25 kg (55 lb) loads. The bike weighs just 22.5 kg (49.6 lb) without the pedals. The price of the Ducati e-Scrambler will run you €3,699 (around US$4,280). It’s available directly from Ducati as well as through their dealer network.

MIG-RR electric bicycle

The company has also introduced its first electric mountain bicycle, Ducati MIG-RR. It was unveiled last year at 2018 EICMA Milan Motorcycle Show. It is also known as Ducati’s electric mountain bike. Ducati MIG-RR electric bicycle was created as a partnership between Ducati and Thok E-Bikes. Both the companies joined to form a combination of Thok’s e-bike building experience and the Ducati’s legendary design.

It is an upgraded version to Thok’s current MIG line of electric mountain bikes. The MIG-RR features a 250 W Shimano Steps E8000 mid-drive. The motor is having a capacity of 70 Nm (51.6 ft-lbs) of torque. It will rely on a 36V and 14 Ah (504 Wh) underslung down the battery. That helps in making the bike lightweight. As a mountain bike, Ducati MIG-RR is well equipped in the bicycle component department.
