Delhi Govt approved more than 100 models for subsidy under new EV policy
The Delhi government has approved more than 100 models of vehicles which includes 45 makes of e-rickshaw and 12 of four-wheelers, for subsidy under the new electric vehicles policy, Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said.

“Vehicles priced up to ₹15 lakh will be eligible for the purchase incentive(subsidy), besides exemption of road tax and registration fee. Electric vehicles having a price over ₹15 lakh will not get subsidy but will be eligible for road tax and registration fee exemptions,” he told a press conference.
Yesterday only the CM of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal launched an e-vehicles web portal ev.delhi.gov.in. This web portal will be helpful for the customers to claim their electric vehicles subsidies without a hassle through the portal.
The portal includes the information about the approved models’ list, dealers list, subsidy disbursal process as well as the network of 70 charging stations across the city. It has approved 45 of e-rickshaws, 14 of two-wheelers and 12 of four-wheelers, etc.

Gahlot said that everything will be done online. The customers will need sales invoice of the vehicle, his aadhaar number and a cancelled cheque to claim the subsidy. The dealer will process the subsidy claim on his end through the website. The claims will be verified by the motor licensing officers concerned and forwarded to banks for subsidy payment.
As per the Delhi EV policy, the Delhi government will provide purchase incentives of Rs 30,000 to electric two-wheelers, e-rickshaws, and goods carriers. For electric cars, the purchase incentives range from Rs 10,000 to Rs 150,000.
To get the benefits of this subsidy the electric vehicles must be eligible in terms of performance and efficiency criteria mentioned in the central government’s Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India Phase II (FAME India Phase II) policy.
“Delhi Government will provide financial assistance to those buying electric vehicles under Electric Vehicle Policy. Financial assistance of Rs 30,000 will be given on the purchase of 2-wheelers, Rs 1.5 lakh on cars and Rs 30,000 on auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws,” CM Kejriwal had mentioned.
