In a landmark step toward cleaner air and sustainable mobility, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has flagged off a fleet of 100 electric school buses , marking a major leap in the city’s fight against air pollution and its push for eco-friendly public transport.
These state-of-the-art e-buses are specially designed to meet the daily needs of school children, ensuring both safety and sustainability. Equipped with fast-charging technology , the buses can recharge quickly, ensuring minimal downtime and uninterrupted service. Their safety-first design has been tailored for young passengers, with added child-friendly features, while an integrated real-time tracking and fleet management system gives parents and schools peace of mind.
Speaking at the launch, CM Rekha Gupta highlighted that this initiative goes far beyond policy implementation. “Introducing electric school buses is about safeguarding the health of our children and building a greener future for the next generation,” she said. The move reflects the government’s commitment to reduce vehicular emissions and promote sustainable transport solutions across the capital.
Delhi has been battling severe levels of air pollution for years, with children being among the most vulnerable groups exposed to its harmful effects. By replacing diesel-powered buses with clean electric alternatives, the city is taking a proactive step to ensure healthier school commutes and contribute to its long-term climate goals.
