February 28, 2025 – Kanyakumari: TATA.ev, India’s leading four-wheeler EV manufacturer, has made history once again by setting a new benchmark in electric mobility. The company’s latest offering, the Curvv.ev, completed the fastest-ever electric vehicle (EV) journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, covering 3,823 kilometers in just 76 hours and 35 minutes. This feat surpasses the previous record held by the Nexon EV MAX by an impressive 19 hours.
Revolutionizing Long-Distance EV Travel
In addition to achieving the fastest north-to-south EV drive in India, the Curvv.ev also secured 20 national records, reaffirming TATA.ev’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. Throughout the journey, the Curvv.ev made only 16 charging stops, demonstrating significant advancements in battery efficiency and the expansion of India’s public EV charging infrastructure.
With a reduced charging time of 17 hours, down from 28 hours in previous records, this journey underscores the increasing convenience of EV travel across India. The growing availability of high-speed public chargers along national highways played a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience.
Flagging Off a Milestone Journey
The record-breaking expedition commenced at 4:00 AM on February 25, 2025, with a ceremonial flag-off in Srinagar by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Mr. Omar Abdullah. The Curvv.ev tackled diverse weather conditions and varied terrains while efficiently utilizing India’s charging network. Upon reaching Kanyakumari at 8:35 AM on February 28, 2025, the vehicle was warmly welcomed by Thiru. Vijay Vasanth, Member of Parliament, Kanyakumari.
