Country’s Ministry of Mines announces lithium discovery. Lithium is one of the key components of EV batteries first discovered in Jammu and Kashmir.

Lithium is a non-ferrous metal used as one of the key components in EV batteries.

Mines Minister Vivek Bharadwaj reported that it is the first time that reserves of lithium have been discovered, even in Jammu and Kashmir. It was discovered by the GSI (Geological Survey of India) during exploration in the Reasi area of Jammu-Kashmir.

The Ministry of Mines once said the government is taking some aggressive steps to secure lithium-bearing minerals from Australia and Argentina in order to strengthen the new technology’s critical minerals supply chain.

Important minerals such as copper, lithium, nickel, cobalt, and rare earth elements are essential components of many of today’s rapidly growing clean energy technologies, from wind turbines and power grids to electric vehicles. India is currently dependent on imports of many minerals such as lithium, nickel, and cobalt.

India desires essential minerals to satisfy its weather alternate goals. Currently, domestic mining alone is not enough to meet the demand for environmentally friendly manufacturing technology. For long-term needs, work must continue to make better use of the minerals available in the country. Countries must focus on securing critical mineral supply chains, acquiring foreign mineral deposits, and ensuring their continued supply.

At the 62nd Central Geological Programming Committee meeting, Bharadwaj said that everything, whether it is a mobile phone or a solar panel, needs vital minerals. Finding and processing important minerals is also very important for a country to become self-sufficient. He also said that with fewer gold imports, we would become self-sufficient.

They are getting increasingly more famous and, like lead-acid batteries, have left their contemporaries behind. Lithium batteries are gaining popularity in consumer electronics due to their lightweight, high-energy density, and long service life. They are actually extensively utilized in electricity garage structures and electric-powered vehicles.

A lithium battery consists of an anode, a cathode, a separator, an electrolyte, and a modern collector. When the battery is charged, the fine electrode releases a number of lithium ions, which migrate thru the electrolyte to the terrible electrode. The battery absorbs and stores this energy. Free electrons are created by the movement of lithium ions, and this charge flows into the power delivery device.

Here is a list of the top 10 lithium battery manufacturers in India, according to reports from industry experts and trusted media sources.

  • Loom Solar – Energy Storage
  • Reliance – EV
  • Mahindra – EV
  • Hyundai – EV
  • Ola – EV
  • Amara Raja (Amaron) – EV
  • Exide – EV
  • Panasonic – Telecom
  • LG – Telecom
  • Samsung – Telecom
