ChargeZone and Audi India open the country’s first RE-powered ultrafast charging station

It takes just 26 minutes to charge the 114kWh Audi Q8 e-tron at its 450kW charging station

German luxury car maker Audi has inaugurated India’s first ultra-fast charging station at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai. Designed and developed in collaboration with ChargeZone, this ultra-fast charger has an incredible total capacity of 450kW, delivering 360kW of power to your electric vehicle. Equipped with a 500 amp water cooling gun, it ensures high performance and efficiency.

This vehicle is equipped with a 114 kWh battery, which is the largest battery mounted on a vehicle in India. The battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes. Due to Audi’s commitment to sustainability, the ultra-fast charging unit ‘e-tron hub’ is completely powered by green energy, and it is equipped with a solar roof to support peripheral electrical needs, including the hub’s lighting.

The Senior Director of Sales Region Overseas at Audi AG, Alexander von Waldenburg-Dresel, expressed his satisfaction that Audi in India has taken the lead in expanding the charging network for electric vehicles. Audi remains committed to expanding the charging network for electric vehicles. The installation of India’s fastest electric vehicle charger in Mumbai is an outstanding accomplishment and reflects the development of electric vehicles in the country. As a result of this fast charger, Mumbai residents will have access to convenient, on-the-go charging facilities.

A significant milestone in Audi India’s ongoing efforts to build a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem for their valued customers is the inauguration of India’s first ultra-fast charging station, according to Mr. Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India. A large number of electric vehicle owners have access to the ultra-fast charging facility at the Bandra Kurla Complex in the heart of Mumbai. Rapid charging infrastructure ensures a seamless charging experience and reduces charging time substantially, alleviating concerns about range limitations. In addition to setting new industry benchmarks, they are also reinforcing their commitment to sustainable mobility for the future.

With high-powered guns that allow fast charging, the ultra-fast charging station provides a hassle-free experience. Furthermore, e-tron owners who charge their e-trons at the hub are entitled to premium coffee vouchers. As part of the ‘e-tron hub’, which offers ultra-fast charging, e-tron owners can relax in a lounge while their car is charged. Several trained personnel will be available at the hub to assist as needed. The owners of Audi e-tron vehicles have access to information concerning the ‘e-tron hub’ via their ‘myAudi Connect’ App, which makes finding the facility easy.

In addition, Kartikey Hariyani, Founder & CEO of CHARGE ZONE, expresses his excitement regarding Audi India and CHARGE ZONE’s collaboration to develop a supercharging network. It is evident that with the increasing popularity of electric cars in India, the use of integrated technology, upstream renewable energy, and appropriate locations is crucial to providing EV users with a seamless experience, which is why Audi India’s team is aligned with its design, engineering, and execution strategy. The partners who made this possible were also thanked by him for their efforts.

On the myAudiConnect app, Audi India introduced ‘Charge my Audi’ earlier this year, a one-stop solution that enables Audi e-tron customers to access multiple charging partners for their electric vehicles. ‘Charge my Audi’ is an industry-first initiative designed to enhance customer convenience. In addition to Aargo EV Smart, Charge Zone, Relux Electric, LionCharge, and Zeon Charging, this application is powered by the Numocity Technologies eMSP roaming solution. Audi e-tron customers are entitled to complimentary charging up until March 2024 across the entire network (except on Zeon). With more charge points to be added in the coming months, Audi e-tron owners currently have access to 1,000+ charging points on ‘Charge my Audi’.

The Audi India dealership network and workshop facilities, along with select SAVWIPL Group brand dealerships located within strategic highways, have successfully installed 140+ chargers across 73 cities in India.

Currently, Audi India has the broadest portfolio of luxury electric vehicles in the country, offering six models: the Audi Q8 50 e-tron, the Audi Q8 55 e-tron, the Audi Q8 Sportback 50 e-tron, the Audi Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron, the Audi e-tron GT, and the Audi RS e-tron GT.
