CESL opens tenders for 100,000 light electric vehicles

The Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) has announced bids to procure 100,000 electric two and three-wheelers. This comes as part of the CESL aim to have half a million light electric vehicles across India. Let us know more about CESL opens tenders for light electric vehicles

In June, the Ministry of Heavy Industries had contracted EESL already to procure 300,000 electric three-wheelers for use in various government agencies when extending the FAME II scheme. The company also says that it has issued a request for proposals for inviting OEMs (Original equipment manufacturers) to provide quotations for electric three-wheelers under different uses such as garbage disposal, freight loaders, food and vaccine transport and passenger autos. It has announced a tender of 100,000 electric trikes and two-wheelers but it is not disclosing many details.

CESL further expects OEMs to include “designing, engineering, manufacturing, testing, inspection, supply, transportation, complete system warranty & transit insurance, delivery to the end-consumer and providing after-sales support” in their bid, the statement said.

CESL partners Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL)

Recently, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has partnered with state-run Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) to set up an electric vehicle charging network across major cities in India. This partnership is meant for the next 10 years and aims to utilise HPCL retail outlets to set up these EV charging stations.

The EV charging stations that will be installed in these cities such as Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Pune and the charging stations will have both slow and fast chargers.

CESL signed MoUs with Goa & Kerala to procure 30,000 electric two & three-wheelers

The Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), CPSE under the Ministry of Power has signed an agreement and MoU with the state governments of Goa and Kerala to procure over 30,000 two- and three-wheelers. As per the press release, Under the agreements, the CESL will also invest in establishing the electric vehicle charging infrastructure and monitor the use of the assets.

Recently, NHPC Limited has signed an e-mobility agreement with Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) for the leasing of 25 electric vehicles. The contract also includes the supply of three electric vehicle fast chargers, its installation and commissioning. The NHPC had earlier leased two electric vehicles through EESL in 2019.
