Australia & AP to collaborate for lithium battery units in Andhra Pradesh
Industries and Commerce Minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy has invited investors from Australia to open lithium battery units in Andhra Pradesh. The collaboration between Australia and Ap will bring great results in the fields of mining, electric vehicles and battery technology, infrastructure and financing, textiles and apparel.
The Minister said that the government’s focus to make AP one of the major hubs for electric mobility in India. Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Amaravati and Tirupati are considered as Model EM cities where the government is planning to install around 100 DC public charging stations in each Model EM Cities.
All the buses of APSRTC will transform into electric 2029 and all government vehicles by 2024 said Mekapati. “Australia has plenty of Lithium resources and AP aspires to go fossil-free, which creates a huge demand for companies manufacturing batteries in the state. We urge Australian representatives to consider setting up Li-ion battery manufacturing units in Andhra Pradesh,’’ he said.
APSRTC electric buses to ply on Tirumala hills & Govt allows E2W to run as taxis
Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation will soon introduce electric buses to transport visiting pilgrims to Tirumala Hills where the famous temple of Lord Venkateswara is located, from Tirupati.
It aims to maintain the hilly areas to be from pollution, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) that manages the hill decided to introduce electric buses in the place of those operated by diesel, TTD Board Chairman YV Subba Reddy told. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also reacted positively to the request made by TTD said, Reddy.
Telangana signed MoU with EV manufacturers to set up EV manufacturing units in State
Apart from that, Telangana has also signed an MoU with EV manufacturers ETO Motors, Olectra, Mytrah Energy to set up EV manufacturing units in State.
ETO Motors announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Telangana to set up a greenfield manufacturing facility in the state for its range of electric three-wheelers. The facility will be set up under its subsidiary Keto Motors with an investment of INR 150 Crores over the next 5 years. This initiative will create 1,500 people employment opportunities.
