Atul Greentech and Amara Raja Partner to Accelerate Atma Nirbhar Bharat in EV Sector

Telangana, India – In a significant move aimed at accelerating India’s electric vehicle (EV) transformation, Atul Greentech Pvt. Ltd. and the Amara Raja Group have entered into a strategic partnership to co-develop and supply Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery packs and chargers for electric three-wheelers.

The collaboration, formalized through a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), brings together the expertise of:

  • Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies

  • Atul Greentech Pvt. Ltd.

  • Amara Raja Power Systems Ltd.

As part of the partnership, the battery packs will be manufactured at Amara Raja’s Giga Corridor facility in Telangana, a key infrastructure hub dedicated to clean energy innovation and high-capacity battery manufacturing.

This alliance aims to create a robust and efficient supply chain for EV batteries in India, supporting the government’s ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India) mission. The roadmap includes the development of advanced chemistry cells, reinforcing the nation’s drive towards sustainable and indigenous EV technology solutions.

Dr. Vijay Kedia, Director at Atul Auto Ltd., expressed confidence in the partnership, stating, “This collaboration strengthens our journey into the electric mobility space. By working with Amara Raja, we ensure access to high-quality, reliable battery solutions tailored for Indian conditions.”

Vijayanand Samudrala, President of New Energy at Amara Raja, emphasized the strategic vision: “India needs a strong domestic EV battery ecosystem. Our partnership with Atul Greentech is a step toward building that foundation, ensuring energy security and innovation leadership.”

With India targeting 80% electrification of two- and three-wheelers by 2030, this alliance places both companies at the forefront of the country’s clean mobility revolution. By leveraging their collective strengths in technology, manufacturing, and market reach, Atul Greentech and Amara Raja are set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of electric transportation in India.
