The race is going to be toughened

Manufacturers of electric two-wheelers in India have increased investment in research and development to address challenges such as affordability, scope concerns, and safety concerns. And with progress in the quest to reduce barriers, EV manufacturers like Ola Electric and Ather Energy have recently expanded their portfolios with more affordable options, namely the Ola S1 Air and Ather 450S.

In light of this development, we are pleased to inform you that Bengaluru-based electric scooter manufacturer Simple Energy is poised to launch not just one, but two low-cost electric scooters in India as soon as possible. Simple Dot One and Dot One are the names of the companies that have trademarked their names, respectively.

While there is not much information available about these scooters, our sources say that they will come with a range of 180 kilometers, which should be enough to put an end to any range concerns around the market. Compared to the Simple One on the market, the Simple One offers a segment-leading range of 212 kilometers (IDC), making it the manufacturer’s only offering on the market.

As for the upcoming scooters, Simple Energy is expected to bring the cost closer to the 1 lakh mark. This goal will be achieved by reducing the size of the battery as it is the most expensive battery and one of the essential components of electric vehicles. We’ll have to wait and see if the company cuts some features like Ola and Ather.

It has been announced that the Simple One electric scooter will be available in showrooms from the end of this year at a starting price of Rs 1.45 lakh. A PMS mid-drive motor is equipped with the One, which produces a maximum power of 8.5 kW (4.5 kW continuous) and a maximum torque of 72 Nm. There is a top speed limit of 105 kilometers per hour on this vehicle.
