The much-awaited Auto Expo 2023 kicked off today, with India’s largest and longest-running carmaker Maruti Suzuki flagging off the event.

The first major unveiling of the company’s rumored all-electric SUV took place at the most anticipated show in the country. They named this new invasion the “Emotional Versatile Cruiser (eVX)”. According to the company, it is a midsize SUV designed to demonstrate the brand’s commitment to sustainable driving. And announced that sales will begin primarily in 2025.

At first glance, it is an all-new car with a radical coupe-like SUV design that Maruti Suzuki has never shown before. An SUV with futuristic design elements has a high level of sovereignty and is being designed and developed by Suzuki. The body size is 4,300mm long x 1,800mm wide x 1,600mm high.

The new conception eVX features a typical EV design without large grille openings. This makes for a clean front-end design that looks aggressive without too numerous sharp lines. rather than a traditional grille, it combines glossy black lines with futuristic-looking LED headlights. The headlights and four small LED DRLs form a V-shaped element that enhances the conception’s sophisticated design. In the center of the apron is a large body-colored bumper that boasts the Suzuki logo. Moving a little further down, you can see a large fairing with a large silver skid plate. The lower cushion has two small LED DRLs.

According to Maruti Suzuki, the idea behind the new Concept eVX and its futuristic design features is to achieve a high level of aerodynamic efficiency by lowering the drag coefficient, which makes it stand out as an advanced technology vehicle.  Maruti, meanwhile, revealed the powertrain specs and explained that it will be powered by his 60kWh battery pack, which offers a range of up to 550km.

Maruti Suzuki’s representative director and President Mr.Toshihiro Suzuki has said, that they promote a variety of global actions to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions generated by their operations. Here in India, they will invest Rs 100 crore in the production of BEVs and their batteries, as announced last March.

The Managing Director and CEO of the company added that For 4 decades Maruti Suzuki has been spreading the joy of mobility in India and fulfilling the aspirations of millions of Indian families. Along with their parent company Suzuki Motor Corporation, they remain largely auspicious and wedded to the long-term growth story of India. With a specific emphasis on Atma Nirbhar Bharat, they’ve committed themselves to bringing new products, technologies, and investments and setting up new installations in India.
