
Assam issued tender for 50 new electric buses
To promote public transport in the State, the State government of Assam issued a tender for 50 new electric buses. In that 40 will be air-conditioned and 10 will be non-AC buses. The Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) made a proposal, as per the proposal, the interested bidders should make earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs 1 crore latest by September 1, 2020.
Tender for 50 new electric buses
As per the proposal from the Assam government looking for 40 air-conditioned and 10 non-air-conditioned buses should be nine-meter-long with the seating capacity of 25 people including the driver and the buses should also have the facility of wheelchair accessibility.
The state transport corporation looking these buses from directly from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and the OEM must maintain the buses for a period of five years under the five years annual maintenance contract (AMC) price.
The applicants should be registered bus manufacturers based in India with at least 35% local operations. They must have an average annual turnover of at least Rs 50 crore and a positive net worth in the last three financial years.
The electric buses must come with a two-year or 2,00,000 km warranty and a five-year warranty is needed for the battery.
NTPC invited tenders for operation of 90 e-buses in Bengaluru
Earlier, the NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN) has invited bids for the operation of 90 electric buses as a ‘Limited Tender’ bidding basis. The operation of these electric buses will be a period of 10 years in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
The proposal includes the operation of the electric buses in the city at given routes as per the statutory rules and regulations in the state of Karnataka. This proposal includes the cleaning, maintenance activities other than the covered under the Annual Maintenance Contract.
Siemens to provide charging infrastructure to buses in Germany
Recently, Siemens announced that it will provide smart charging infrastructure to 21 fully electric low-floor buses in Leipzig, Germany. The Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB) GmbH has given the contract to VDL Bus & Coach. The Seimens’s charging system will charge VDL buses on three lines as well as at the Lindenau bus depot and are scheduled to go into operation in 2021. In sustainable urban planning, the electrification of local public transportation is a major step.
