A Bangalore-based Electric Vehicle start-up company, Altigreen showcased a demo electric three-wheeler. Altigreen presently assuming a name, 90XT for the e-rikshaw, but the name has not been finalized yet.  Altigreen Electric Rickshaw will offer a range of 125km on single charge and a top speed of 53kmph.

The electric rikshaw is now production-ready and is undergoing final stages of testing. The company will get the ARAI certification for its electric vehicle within a few days.

The e-rickshaw houses a 9kW/48V electric motor which is paired with a 10kW Lithium Ferro-phosphate battery. The electric rikshaw will offer a range of 125km on a single charge. It requires one hour to charge it up to 50 percent and four hours for full charge. Its top speed is 53kmph. The electric three-wheeler also offers two different riding modes like Eco and Boost. The e-rikshaw consists of all-digital instrument cluster with a blue backlight.

Altigreen has already got an order for 200 vehicles from an undisclosed company. Three more companies too willing to order these e-rikshaws. Altigreen will officially launch the three-wheeler in January 2020. The price of the cargo version of this e-rickshaw will be around Rs. 3.50 lakh after all the subsidies. Whereas the passenger version will be available for slightly more affordable price.

We can surely say that there is literally no other e-rickshaw has this range. All the wheels of this equipped with disc brakes and this is the first time for an e-rickshaw in India. This e-rikshaw achieved 90 per cent localization. Only the battery of this vehicle is imported one.
