JSW MG Motor Expands Nurture Initiative to Build Future-Ready EV Workforce

JSW MG Motor India has announced a significant scale-up of its flagship Nurture initiative, aiming to prepare India’s next generation of professionals in emerging technologies such as electric vehicles (EVs), artificial intelligence (AI), connected mobility, and autonomous driving. With over 80 faculty members trained across 50 academic institutions, the program is rapidly creating a knowledge pipeline that aligns with the country’s vision for sustainable mobility and digital transformation.

Empowering Educators for Industry 4.0

The Nurture initiative focuses on “train-the-trainer” models, ensuring that faculty members acquire deep expertise in cutting-edge mobility technologies. These trained educators then bring industry insights back to their classrooms, directly benefiting thousands of students. This multiplier effect is crucial at a time when India is witnessing an accelerated shift toward EV adoption, smart mobility, and AI-driven solutions.

Bridging Policy and Industry Needs

The program is aligned with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the government’s EV 2030 roadmap, both of which emphasize the need to integrate technology-led education with hands-on industry experience. According to industry estimates, India will require over 10 million EV-skilled professionals in the coming years to sustain its transition toward clean mobility.

By focusing on EV engineering, AI applications, IoT-enabled connected vehicles, and autonomous systems, JSW MG Motor India is not just building workforce readiness but also strengthening India’s competitive edge in global mobility innovation.

Building India’s EV Talent Ecosystem

The company has highlighted that the demand-supply gap in EV skills could slow down the momentum of the sector if not addressed proactively. Through the Nurture program, JSW MG is working with academic institutions to embed practical learning modules, industry case studies, and real-world project opportunities into engineering and technical education.

This holistic approach equips students with more than theoretical knowledge—it prepares them for industry deployment from day one. In addition, the initiative fosters collaboration between academia and industry, ensuring that curriculums remain relevant to the fast-evolving needs of mobility technology.

A Step Towards Sustainable Growth

JSW MG Motor India’s initiative reflects a broader strategy to support India’s clean energy and digital transformation goals. By investing in skills, the company is reinforcing its role not only as a mobility player but also as an enabler of sustainable economic growth.

With more institutions and faculty members expected to join in the coming phases, the Nurture initiative has the potential to shape India’s future workforce in EV and smart mobility domains—helping the country achieve its ambitious goals of becoming a global EV hub by 2030.
