Montra Electric, part of the Murugappa Group, has achieved a significant milestone with its flagship Rhino 5538EV , a 55-ton GCW (Gross Combination Weight) electric truck. Within just two years of launch , the Rhino fleet has collectively covered an impressive 1.2 crore kilometers , proving its reliability in some of India’s most demanding logistics applications.
Currently, a fleet of 350 Rhino EV trucks is operational across the country, serving critical industries such as steel, cement, and port logistics . By shifting heavy-duty cargo movement to electric power, these trucks have already helped reduce over 3.79 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions , reinforcing the role of electric mobility in decarbonizing long-haul freight.
