Kia Carens Clavis EV Teased Ahead of 15th July Launch: Up to 490 Km Range Claimed
Kia India has officially teased its much-anticipated Carens Clavis EV, confirming a 15th July launch date. This will mark Kia’s first mass-market electric vehicle for the Indian market, signaling the brand’s serious foray into the country’s growing EV segment.
The Clavis EV will be offered with two battery pack options – 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh, delivering a claimed range of up to 490 km on a full charge. It will feature a single motor setup, similar to the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, with which it shares its electric powertrain.
Visually, the Clavis EV will retain the core design of its ICE counterpart but will get EV-specific updates like aero-optimized alloy wheels, a blanked-off front grille, and redesigned bumpers. The cabin will sport dual 12.3-inch connected screens (for infotainment and instrumentation) and a modern 2-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, enhancing the EV’s premium feel.
The Clavis EV is expected to be competitively priced and positioned against rivals like the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV400, and MG ZS EV. With its launch, Kia aims to tap into the mainstream EV market by offering tech-rich features, a practical design, and long range.
Stay tuned for full specifications and pricing when the Carens Clavis EV debuts on 15th July 2025.
