Hyundai Ioniq 9 to Debut in India at Bharat Mobility Show 2025

Hyundai’s flagship electric SUV, the Ioniq 9, is set to make its Indian debut at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025.

This luxurious three-row electric SUV will be showcased alongside the upcoming Creta EV at the event. The Ioniq 9, which was recently unveiled at the LA Auto Show 2024, is Hyundai’s largest electric SUV, measuring 5,060mm in length. It boasts an angular design with rounded corners and an upright tailgate, featuring Hyundai’s signature Parametric pixel inserts in its headlamps and taillights. The SUV rides on 19-inch wheels as standard, with optional upgrades to 20- or 21-inch wheels. Customers can choose from 16 exterior colors and seven interior shades.

Inside, the Ioniq 9 offers a spacious and luxurious cabin with a choice of six- or seven-seater layouts. The first two rows feature massaging seats, and the second-row seats can even swivel to face the third row. Other notable interior features include a panoramic sunroof, a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, roof-mounted AC vents, and multiple 100W USB-C ports in all rows.

Safety is a top priority in the Ioniq 9, with 10 airbags, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with multiple cameras and sensors, and other standard safety features like ABS and EBD.

Under the hood, the Ioniq 9 is powered by a 110.3 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed WLTP range of up to 620km.7 It supports both 400V and 800V charging, with the latter enabling a 10-80% charge in just 24 minutes using a 350kW charger. The SUV also comes with a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function, allowing it to power external electrical devices.

The Ioniq 9 is available in Long Range (LR) and Performance trims, with both front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) options. The LR RWD variant produces 218hp and 350Nm of torque, while the AWD version adds a 95hp, 255Nm motor to the front axle. The top-spec Performance trim boasts 218hp motors on both axles, delivering impressive acceleration.

While the Ioniq 9 will be showcased in India, it’s unlikely to go on sale anytime soon. However, its presence at the Bharat Mobility Show highlights Hyundai’s commitment to the Indian electric vehicle market and showcases the future of electric mobility.
